Frequently asked questions — A New View Financial Planning, independent financial adviser in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire

FAQs

The things people most often ask — answers to the questions that come up before we start.

The basics

What you need to know.

Are you independent?

Yes — completely. Independence sits at the heart of everything we do, which means advice without conflict and recommendations that are genuinely shaped around you.

Are you regulated?

Yes. we are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), so you can be confident that the advice you receive meets the standards expected of a professional planner.

Do I need to be wealthy to work with you?

Not at all. Our service isn't built around how much you have — it's built around what you are trying to achieve. If you would value a clearer picture of your future, there's a good chance I can help.

Working together

What it's like as a client.

How do I get started?

The easiest way is to book a free introduction call. It's an informal chat — no forms, no pressure — just a chance for us to see if working together feels right.

What if you can't help me?

It's rare that I can't help in some way, but if I'm not the right fit I'll happily point you toward someone or something that is. You'll never leave a conversation empty-handed.

How often will we speak?

We will always sit down formally at least once a year, but I realise things change all the time. Once we have finalised plans, I am available for unlimited calls, reviews and coaching.

Our meetings

What to expect when we meet.

Where do meetings take place?

I live in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, and I am happy to travel to meet you in person within a 60-mile radius. If you're further afield — anywhere in the UK — we can meet just as effectively over a video call. Whichever suits you best.

Will you really build the plan free of charge?

Yes. The introduction call, the getting to know you call and building the plan is free of charge. Fees are only applicable if you instruct me to implement and manage the plan. This is because I strongly believe financial advice should be more accessible to everyone that needs it.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself for the first chat - and any thoughts you have about what you would like life to look like. For the Discovery Meeting, I will direct you to a couple of questionnaires and it will be good to gather all the information about your existing finances, assets, liabilities and expenditure.

Should I bring my partner?

If you have one, it's often helpful — even when finances are kept separate. Planning together usually leads to a clearer shared picture of the future. However, it is entirely up to you.

How long should I set aside?

Anywhere from thirty minutes to a couple of hours. We'll take whatever time the conversation needs — there's no rush and no script.

Fees

How I charge.

What does a financial plan cost?

You can find a full breakdown on the Fees page. Everything is set out openly so there are no surprises later on.

Will I always know what I'm paying for?

Yes. Transparency is non-negotiable. Every fee is explained in plain English up front, with no hidden costs and nothing tucked away in the small print.

Still have a question?

If something's on your mind that isn't covered here, the easiest thing is a quick, no-obligation chat.
